Ellie graduated with a Master of Biological Sciences (MBiolSci, First-Class Honours) from the University of Sheffield. She joined our lab in 2025 as a PhD student to work on modifying a humanised cell line to propagate fluorescent prions with the aim of tracking infection dynamics live. Development of this system will allow us to trigger and visualise exogenous seeded prion protein conversion in real time. She aims to exploit cryo-CLEM on this cell line to dive into the structural aspects of PrP assemblies in situ.
