FIB/SEM comes to Imperial thanks to a successful BBSRC ALERT 2024 bid

We are delighted to announce the success of a joint BBSRC ALERT 2024 equipment bid co-led by researchers from the Institute of Cancer Research and Imperial College London, including us. Thanks to this collaborative effort, we will soon be welcoming a new focused ion beam scanning electron microscope (FIB/SEM) - a transformative step for our research community.

The new system will significantly enhance our capabilities in high-resolution 3D imaging and correlative workflows.

The instrument will be housed at the EM Facility of the Institute of Cancer Research (ICR, Chelsea), expertly run by Dr Teige Matthews-Palmer, just a 10-minute walk away.

We look forward to the installation, training, and the exciting science that lies ahead.
