Spotlight on Hantao Wang
Hantao graduated from Imperial College London with a BSc in Medical Biosciences and an MRes in Biomedical Research. She has extensive long-term internship experience. During her time at Yale School of Medicine, she worked with human induced pluripotent stem cell (hiPSC)-derived brain organoids and human fetal brain tissue to investigate links between psychiatric disorders and gene expression patterns during early brain development. She joined our laboratory in 2026 to pursue a PhD investigating α-synuclein aggregation using a tailored hiPSC-based system. Through genetic code expansion, live-cell imaging, cryo-correlative light and electron microscopy, and in situ cryo-electron tomography, she aims to gain new insights into synucleinopathies.
